Marc Hager has been playing jazz piano in and around the Seattle area for the past decade. A self taught pianist through high school, he was accepted into the University of Washington school of music where he studied privately with professor Marc Seales, majoring in Jazz Studies. While at the UW he played with both the Studio I and Studio II big bands, vocal choir, and numerous combos and also began playing professionally. Since then Marc has appeared in a variety of jazz, funk, reggae and rock groups at venues such as the Fenix, both new and old, the Ballard Fire House, the Tractor Tavern, and in private performances at the EMP and Jazz Alley. Some notable local musicians Marc has shared the stage with include Chris Littlefield (Karl Denson, Jumbalaya), Jessica Lurie (Billy Tipton Memorial Sax Quartet, Living Daylights), Dave Carter (SkerikÕs Syncopated Taint Septet), James Whiton (Eric McFadden Trio), Paul Kemmish and others. He currently can be seen performing regularly around the Seattle area at numerous small clubs and restaurants.
