Marc Hager is an actively performing jazz pianist and composer based in Seattle, Washington. A self taught pianist through high school, he was accepted into the University of Washington School of Music in 1992 where he studied privately with professor Marc Seales, majoring in Jazz Studies. Since leaving college Marc has appeared in a wide variety of jazz, funk, reggae and rock groups performing throughout the northwest in venues large and small. For the past decade Marc has been teaching piano with a focus on providing individually tailored instruction in a positive learning environment where creativity and exploration are encouraged while simultaneously giving solid instruction in the fundamentals of music and piano technique. Many of Marc's students have played or are playing in their school jazz bands with a few having been recognized for their playing at regional jazz festivals. An active member of the Seattle Music Teacher's Association, Marc is committed to lifelong growth in the study of music and teaching. |
